In 2019, the Suffolk 311 Call Center was established to act as a centralized hub and initial point of contact for constituents seeking non-emergency services from county government. The primary goal of the 311 Call Center is to promptly address the needs of Suffolk County residents by serving as the primary liaison to county services and information. The center strives to efficiently address and resolve constituent concerns with minimal touchpoints and serves on average15,000 callers each month.
The dedicated professionals at the 311 Call Center are equipped to answer questions about county programs and services, create service requests, and connect callers directly with departmental staff when needed. Whether someone requires assistance with reporting a pothole, accessing health-related resources, seeking information on Civil Service exams and job opportunities, registering a business, or planning a camping trip at a county park, one call to 311 or 631-853-6311 (for those outside Suffolk County) does it all!

When you dial 311, you can anticipate a warm and friendly greeting from Suffolk County employees who are determined to be helpful and find the best way to assist you. Service requests are promptly directed to relevant departments for processing and each request is assigned a unique number for tracking purposes. Open cases are reviewed regularly to ensure timely completion.
If a caller needs assistance from other municipalities or government agencies, appropriate referrals will be made. Additionally, we are prepared to help a diverse population by offering translation services in more than 200 languages.
